This is a user submitted review of the Cuisinart DGB-600BC Grind and Brew Coffee maker. Submitted by James Masterson.

A friend of mine has a Cuisinart DGB-600BC Grind and Brew Coffee Maker, and up till a few years back I worked as a barista. Now that doesn’t make me an expert on coffee but I thought the Grind and Brew coffee that my friend’s machine made was pretty good, plus she said she liked here machine a lot.

So when I was in the market for a new machine, I decided to go for the Cuisinart DGB-600BC Grind and Brew Coffee Maker. I read a number of reviews before deciding to go for this model.

I am extremely happy with my purchase. Yes, there are some minor cons, but the pros outweigh them.

First of all, the machine looks great on my counter. I know it’s not a big deal to many people but I like to “live in beauty” and this machine is stylish and sleek.

Most importantly, the coffee that it brews is great tasting. The thermal carafe keeps the coffee warm for hours.

Cleaning up is simple, I would not get a machine with complex cleaning needs.

I have read reviews by “connoisseurs” who claim that you should never buy a machine with a built in grinder – I think that should only apply if the grinder component is sub-par. The grinder of this Cuisinart DGB-600BC is great.

I love the convenience that the built in grinder provides. There is no sacrifice of quality at all.

I have taken off half a point in my rating because my one grouse is that the grinder component is not well sealing. This means that I can’t store my coffee grounds in the grinder, I need to pour in just enough beans that I will (mostly) finish up during the day. I know this isn’t a big deal, but it would have been nice to have a coffee bean dispenser and grinder combined, so I could store some beans in the machine itself.

Finally, there is a bit of a learning curve to this machine, as there will be with any automatic machine. You need to learn how much beans to put in and how much grinding you want. It took me about three or four tries to perfect it.

If you are interested in a Grind and Brew machine, I would say to go for this model. In my book, it’s pretty perfect.
