A couple of months back our household wound up in need of a new coffee maker.

 So I read a few reviews, found out the DeLonghi was a popular brand and that I wanted a thermal carafe coffee maker. So I purchased the DeLonghi Exclusivo DCM485 10 cup coffee maker. I have some mixed opinions about this machine. 

Let me start off by saying that I’m keeping this machine because it does it’s job and what’s advertised. It brews some great tasting coffee. The thermal carafe keeps the coffee warm for ages, I have made coffee in the morning and had hot coffee from the carafe at night, which I find quite amazing. Because it’s a thermal carafe, the coffee doesn’t get that bitter taste you get with hot plates.

The water reservoir is also easy to remove and refill.

However, the major problem with this machine is that it’s really hard to clean. The lid constantly gets clogged up in the holes. I have to make sure that the lid is always clean.

Also, the clock is not very intuitive to use and it took me a while to get the hang of.

Overall, I was expecting better from DeLonghi.
